Designing A Company Logo With Canva

4 min read

Canva website is a fantastic tool for start-ups designing company logo, and growing companies, but as your company engages, you should keep the following in mind.

Canva is our favorite tool since it works great for SO MANY things. We use it to generate eye-catching presentations, short-form movies, and social media templates for our clients. Designing a professional brand identity for your beauty business is one thing we DON’T use Canva for (we’ll get into the reasons why below!).

Strategic brand design is one of those crucial periods in a beauty business owner’s life when they might benefit from working with a professional to aid with their branding. When should you consider making a professional branding investment?

It’s time to look strategically once you’ve been in business for a few years and start considering growing, expanding, trademarking, etc. In the end, Canva has drawbacks that may hinder the scalability of your brand.

Thus, before you invest many hours creating and designing a company logo using Canva, here are some things you need to have in mind.

5 Problems When Designing A Company Logo Using Canva

1 Canva design can limit your creativity.

Canva might not be the greatest choice if you want to create something distinctive for your company.

For your beauty business, it’s crucial to go beyond simple design because it projects a sense of professionalism. People don’t have to worry about purchasing subpar goods when they see a nicely designed logo on social media or else, since they know the creator takes pride in their work and handles quality control.

2. Your business’ brand identity should be unique to YOU.

Your brand identity should, in other words, be as distinctive as feasible. Canva is a template-based platform, so other companies in the beauty industry with their own Canva-made logos can use the same design pattern, colors, and shapes as you do. This completely negates the idea of having a specially created brand logo.

There are likely to be hundreds, if not thousands, of other companies with logos that are identical to yours. The danger of that? not distinguishing oneself from rivals not standing out among the noise. Not inspiring or driving customers to action with YOUR brand. . Developing a purposeful and deliberate brand identity that represents your company and what your target audience is looking for is the best method to prevent this.

3. You cannot trademark a Canva logo.

4. Canva cannot provide vector file formats.

Because they maintain quality when scaled up or down in size, vector file formats are preferable for printing; however, Canva can only export JPEGs (or PNGs if you have a pro account). Due to this restriction, your logo will appear pixelated when printed on larger items like posters, signs, billboards, etc. since it will be extremely blurry or impossible to read.

While developing your logo via Canva has certain benefits, such as access to their vast library of fonts and icons, graphics, and textures, it is not worth compromising the quality of your design in order to make it appear presentable on social media platforms like Instagram or Facebook. When trying to rebrand your beauty business and logo, it isn’t where your attention should be focused.
